How is payment collected?
Payment is collected electronically through SimplePractice using a credit or debit card securely kept on file.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments cancelled, rescheduled, or missed without at least 48 hours’ notice may be subject to the full appointment fee.
This policy helps protect appointment availability and allows the practice to offer that time to another patient when possible.
Is the initial $100 deposit refundable?
Yes, the deposit charged at the time of booking is refundable if the cancellation adheres to our cancellation policy listed above. Otherwise, this deposit will be credited towards fees at time of appointment.
Insurance
Do you accept insurance?
Valence Integrative Psychiatry does not accept Medicare, Medicare Advantage, AHCCCS, or commercial insurance. If requested, a superbill may be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Why private pay?
Private pay (aka out-of-network) allows Dr. Garcia to spend more time with longer appointments and provide the thoughtful, individualized care that you deserve. This also prevents your care from being dictated by insurance, providing greater flexibility and privacy.
Appointments
Do you only treat perinatal or reproductive mental health concerns?
No. Dr. Garcia treats a range of adult psychiatric concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood changes, ADHD, sleep difficulties, PTSD and life transitions.
Can you help with medication decisions during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Absolutely. Dr. Garcia has extensive experience in managing medications preconception, during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. We will discuss the risks and benefits of medication and determine your best course of action.
Do you provide therapy?
Although Dr. Garcia primarily provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management, most appointments will include supportive therapy and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) foundational principles. For patients who would benefit from ongoing psychotherapy, Dr. Garcia can provide referrals to trusted therapy providers.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
Yes, if clinically indicated, Dr. Garcia will discuss medication options, including controlled substances.
Do you see patients outside of Arizona?
Valence Integrative Psychiatry only sees adults located in Arizona. Please continue to check back if you reside outside of Arizona, as we are working to expand to other states.
What is the complimentary consultation call?
During this call, you and Dr. Garcia will briefly discuss what you are seeking support for and whether the services offered by Valence Integrative Psychiatry may be a good fit. This call does not establish a physician-patient relationship and is not intended for urgent or emergency needs.
How often are follow-up appointments?
Follow up appointments typically start out at 2–4-week intervals, based upon your individualized plan and needs. Appointments are less often as you become more stable.
